**BARISTA/ FRONT OF HOUSE STAFF****Reports To**:The Barista will report to FOH Supervisor.**Job Overview**: If you LURVE coffee and loves connecting with people, we want to meet you! We are looking for a Barista to prepare cups of juiciness for our customers, such as coffee, tea and specialty beverages. You will be responsible for taking customer orders and payments. Of course, there is some cleaning, washing and sanitizing that needs to be done at the bar, which you can't run away from.To succeed as a barista, you should be committed to providing customers with excellent service. You should be positive, friendly, knowledgeable, and polite.**Responsibilities and Duties**:1. Welcoming customers, informing them about specials or new items, answering questions, and accepting orders and payments.2. Preparing foods, such as sandwiches or baked goods, and grinding and blending coffee beans, brewing coffee and tea, and serving items to customers.3. Packaging food and beverages for sale.4. Selling coffee, tea blends and other beverages and snacks.5. Cleaning and restocking work and dining areas, emptying trash and sanitizing equipment and utensils.6. Learning about brewing methods, beverage blends, food preparation, and presentation techniques to improve food quality.7. Updating signage and displays to attract customers.8. Taking inventory and replenishing items in display cases, at tables, or behind the counter.9. Working as part of a fun, high-energy team.10. Adhering to all food safety regulations and quality controls.11. To be a committed member of the cafe team: a. To uphold excellent communication throughout the cafe team and with the other departments in the centre b. To perform any tasks required within the kitchen or any other area within the cafe operation c. Uphold the ethos and mission of the company at all times12. Daily cashing up is completed by yourself ensuring that all security systems in place regarding cash handling are adhered to on a daily basis. Daily income and refunds are recorded appropriately.13. Assist in the maintenance of the quality proposition of the cafe operation to enhance the visitor experience.14. Responsible for assisting the Cafe Supervisor in ensuring full compliance with Food Safety & Local Law regulations.15. To be an integral member of the Centre team to ensure the success of the cafe16. In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the post holder is required to perform any other reasonable duties that may be assigned by the supervisor shown above, from time to time.**Qualifications**:1. High School Diploma or equivalent.2. Experience in food and beverage preparation or customer service preferred.3. Training and willingness to continue learning about food and beverage preparation.4. Exceptional listening and communication skills, with a polite and engaging personality.5. Ability to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods.6. Availability to work around peak hours, including nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.7. General administration including cash handling and record-keeping8. Commitment to customer satisfaction and service excellence.9. Has an interest in good food and product presentation10. A problem solver with a creative personality and good organizational skills11.
