Base Location In the main, our roles are remote / working from home, with occasional travel to an Access office, supplier / partner or customer site. Some roles are site-based and if this applies to this role, this will be discussed with you during the hiring process. This role will be based in our APAC region and will work on projects residing in Malaysia (particularly Kuala Lumpur), Australia and New Zealand. The role will need to liaise with UKIE colleagues and partners also.
Working Hours Core hours are Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 6.00pm local time (excluding lunch break). Occasionally, we will ask staff to stagger their working pattern (small adjustments, e.g. 8.00am to 4.30pm), to provide coverage for colleagues or to accommodate interaction with international colleagues. We are a global organisation and operate a follow-the-sun service model and therefore we do not require our staff to work out of hours as part of normal practice.
Responsibilities: As a Build engineer within the Access Cloud Engineering division, you will be responsible for completing several tasks relating to the company and division requirements. This will include, but not be limited to: Deployment of Windows and Linux VMs and supporting services (IIS, RDS, SQL) Deployment of software defined networks using NSX-T including firewall rules, VPNs and load balancing Drive operational excellence within the deployment team by ensuring that build standards and processes are adhered to Report potential capacity issues and suggest fixes Create process and system documentation Key Skills required for this role are: Excellent NSX-T knowledge
Excellent VMWare knowledge
Knowledge of VMware Cloud Director
Good knowledge of Wintel skills including:
- Active Directory
- IIS
- RDS
- Group Policy
Ability to work on own initiative
Ability to interpret customer requirements and turn these into a design & environment build
CCNA level networking (certificate not required but advantageous)
Desired skills: Knowledge of load balancer technologies such as Pulse Secure
Knowledge of Citrix Virtualization
Linux systems administration
PowerShell scripting
Visual Studio
