Main Purpose: The primary purpose of the Cost Manager role is to provide business partner support for remediation programmes.
This will involve managing and monitoring the costs associated with the programmes including IT development, operations, onshore and offshore resource, project management and any other associated project spend.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Accountability for managing the costs and level of resources associated with the remediation programmes
- Provide oversight and challenge to ensure efficient use of scarce resources and cost efficiency
- Present financial and non financial KPIs to support the management of the projects
- Deliver monthly insight and reporting to monitor spend incurred and how this compares to the latest expectation
- Provide a robust forecast of cost and resources associated with the remediation projects, highlighting changes in expectations in a timely manner
- Recommend and implement appropriate sensitivities to key assumptions to validate robustness of forecasts
- Work with key Business leads and senior stakeholders to ensure all cost and resource impacts associated with the programmes are actively managed
- Provide support for financial MI covering remediation activities associated with the programmes
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Knowledge of organisation, processes, and engaging with senior stakeholders
- Past working experience in a relevant cost management role
- Experience working in relevant function; i.e. Chief Operating Office, Business Performance or Finance is desirable but not essential
- Role relevant qualifications, i.e. Financial/Accounting is essential
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and senior audience
