Work with different types of Ethernet and fiber Cables. Follow cabling standards (TIA-568 standard) & fiber testing equipment- Under break fix activities repaireplace faulty equipment and software to the applicable OEM recommendation, peripheral cabling (E. g patch cables used to connect wall blocks, line interface units, etc.)- Tasks to be performed by dedicated FSO- Add/remove CSU/DSU- Add/remove out of band access devices/modems- Add a router, switch, firewall or its modules and cards (chassis-based or non-chassis based)- Rogue device identification (tracing the cable from the switch to the end location)- Wiping configuration- Perform Site surveys (including wireless LAN site surveys) to capture all in-scope equipment and related peripheral Equipment located at a Site, and to ensure all Site documentation is accurate and up-to-date and conducted in accordance with client and OEM standards.- Use MS Visio to create applicable documentation and security and network related knowledge to perform these tasks (e.g., network diagrams, CMDB data, compliance documentation, DNS records, Change records)- Provide support to network & security devices, un-racking, packing, installing and shipping equipment to multiple locations.- Work on switches types like Access Switch, Core Switch, Server Farm Switch, Distribution Switch- Perform RMA process- Replacing network hardware,- Label patch cords,- Un-rack defective hardware,- Install RMA hardware into the Rack,- Repatch copper and Fiber cables- Upgrade the hardware with JJTS standard code / IOS- Complete UAT testing- Ship back the old hardware- Replace or install new network hardware- Need to work with tools they will need to use to perform FSO work:- Screwdriver, Laptop, Hotspot, Console Cable, SecureCRT or PUTTY software,- Working knowledge of WebEx / Skype / Teams and AWS- Perform troubleshooting on WAN/LAN/WLAN network/Contact Center network devices- Perform wireless LAN survey for break-fix with proper equipment & training- Local contact point for escalated / aged / outstanding incidents & iTASK- Local point of contact to follow up with NOC and local vendors (e.g. Telco, cabling etc)- Coordinate and manage communication with SDL, and J&J Network Team (e.g. incident update)- Follow up and support on operation team open RITMs- Support other initiatives like TLM, Capacity, Release, Problem management- Run reports from Network Tools (e.g. LogicMonitor, Netscout, Tornado, Prime etc) for Network CI as required- Perform CSR / MACD / Project work as FSO- Support HCL Network team whenever & wherever required like troubleshooting, knowledge sharing, badging, site visits, assisting at site/remotely, mentoring resources, training and others- Network equipment inventory and spares management (e.g. supporting / coordinate Physical inventory count)- Possess own vehicle & tools to cover sites within 40-50 miles' radius as a part of scope of work, on job travel time will be 80%.**Overview**:This position is for an experienced technician on the Desktop Support team responsible forpartnering with both Chevron IT design teams and Level 1 Service Desk to provide support for coreinfrastructure and desktop technologies standard to Chevron's operating environment. It alsoinvolves hardware asset management and basic networking.**Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to**:- Responsible for technical troubleshooting, data gathering and GAP analysis for issues impacting end users globally.- Ensures consistent processes, procedures and technologies are utilized across Chevron enterprise environment.- Understand and follow direction provided by the Application and System Services team leads and managers.- Document recurring issues in the Chevron Knowledge Base- Document in detail case status and tasks / work completed with end users in the Chevron ITSM system- Follow the Chevron critical incident process- Setup and maintain inventory processes- Keep the stockroom area clean and organized.- Receive and record assets in System for tracking.- Perform basic staging tasks such as assembling computer components, imaging/copy hard- drives, asset tagging, repackaging equipment.- Pick, prepare, and organize outgoing order- Work with Operations/Purchasing to maintain adequate stock levels.- Work with Field Service/Project teams to ensure the proper equipment is allocated for work- orders- Maintain inventory controls over tools- Provide reports supporting the asset inventory using excel and other tables as needed- Gather data on and provide analysis of all activities that have an impact on the value, cost and risk of asset life cycles- Support and assist in the basic troubleshooting network equipment and components, including:- Restarting equipment- Removing and disposing equipment and/or components- Perform visual checks for hardware failure lights or power status and hardware labels and assisting with
