Position OverviewLeads and manages the strategy, design and support of server and compute systems and services, including but not limited to Windows and UNIX operating systems, hardware platforms and virtualization, hypervisor systems and Corporate and international disaster recovery. Manages technology teams and promotes a teamwork environment. Develops and maintains relationships with RGA IT team leaders to foster and enhance communication between groups. Ensures production technology maintains its leading-edge status and supports the business objectives of RGA. Responsibilities Mentors associates within the department. Performs supervisory duties including, but not limited to; hiring, training, evaluating, coaching, and disciplining of direct reports. Leads and manages large, complex projects for IT Operations: plans the scope, develops schedules, monitors costs/budgets and allocates resources. Manages aspects of operations for various systems within our multi-cloud, on-prem and cloud-based infrastrucutre, including storage, backup, database, and network systems and services for RGA globally. Manages server operations for both Unix and Windows systems and services globally. Maintains and fosters internal client relationships. Takes ownership of the relationship and ensures that clients' objectives are met and gains understanding when the objectives are not feasible. Manages RGA's disaster recovery plan and ensures Systems and Data are available according to the expectations of the business units. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Master's degree and/or LOMA certification 8+ years IT experience, preferably in managing data center resources and managing virtual hosting platforms Highly advanced people management skills, demonstrating an ability to lead, mentor and develop staff. Ability to manage staff members who are difficult or resistant to leadership. Highly advanced project management skills. Demonstrates ability to evaluate project objectives and scope feasibility, gain understanding, schedule resources, and manage budget to plan. Advanced oral and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey business terminology that is meaningful and well received by the customer. Expert ability to translate business needs and problems into systems' design and technical solutions. Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills Advanced knowledge of broad business and finance related practices Advanced ability to work well within and manage a team Ability to manage multiple projects and/or sub-teams simultaneously, including the ability to delegate key areas of responsibility Ability to adapt new methods, work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions. 5+ years IT production support or relative experience Insurance industry knowledge Financial industry knowledge
