Description We are hirirng an Engineer for Operations. The role will be under limited supervision, will implement new & special group products into the facility, improve productivity and productivity of existing production procedures, and provide ongoing support through the manufacturing life cycle. TasksNew product introductions: Serves as a manufacturing representative for the implementation of new product(s) into the plant. Assures that new product(s) meet cost/profit target, they are implemented per schedules and on budget, and they conform to manufacturing capabilities. Establishes economical processes for new product(s) by working with other technical areas. Evaluate whether to make or purchase parts/products.Improvements: Evaluates manufacturing processes to ensure optimal labor and material costs to increase productivity and profitability. Through justifications and evaluations, identifies prime areas for improvement. Track expenditures to ensure outlays are within budgeted amounts. Identifies, reduces and eliminates worker exposure(s) to ergonomic stress(es) in the work place. Introduction of best practices and lean principles to the manufacturing operation. Provide & support cost reduction initiatives to improve profitability.Floor support: Provides timely product and process support for manufacturing area to diagnose problems and implement solutions to minimize interruption in production.Special Products/Projects: Lead in implementation of significant product, process or other corporate initiative being introduced into this plant.Flow: Provide technical support to most production areas to anticipate and diagnose throughput issues. Employ a variety of analytical and scientific tools to address plant and line layouts, process sequencing/linking, scheduling and line balancing following lean manufacturing philosophies.Requirements Profile (Competencies, skills, abilities, experience, education necessary.) Skills/Abilities Good analysis skills: process, capacity, cost/benefit, waste stream, and quality tools. Familiar with Lean Manufacturing techniques: Flow, VSM, equipment reliability, and set up time reduction. Negotiation and Facilitation skills Knowledge of material handling and work measurement Productivity improvement technique Behavior sciences (logic, sociology, etc) Economic and financial analysis Interpersonal skills Computer skills: AUTOCAD, NC programming, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, etc. Knowledge in design, specification, purchase and installation of new equipment.
