ENVIRONMENTAL OFFICER (E.O) Project Site (Perlis Inland Port, PIP) ACCOUNTABILITIES: - Supervise erosion and sediment control works at the site as per Environmental Management Plan (EMP);- Updating Site Daily Log Book;- Updating the Rainfall Record;- Conduct and record rain gauge readings;- Conduct daily inspections on pollution control measures as well as Best Management Practices (BMPs) structures, erosion and sediment control including perimeter drains, check dams, silt traps, wash troughs, slope protection and others;- Attend site meetings with Client/Consultant;- Carry out in-situ measurements of turbidity parameters at the discharge point within a period not exceeding 30 minutes after precipitation. If rainfall continues for more than 24 hours, measurements will be making once daily;- Inspections of all components of BMPs shall be conduct with 24hrs of records of precipitation equal to or greater than 12.5 mm - Ensure the implementation of all control measures conducted effectively, ensuring good housekeeping practices in regard to environmental management;- Assist project site in environmental related issues. - Any other tasks as assigned by superior. JOB SPECIFICATION: - Possess a Bachelor Degree in Environmental Science/Environmental Technology/Environmental Management or equivalent. - Possess a Certificate in Certified Erosion Sediment & Stormwater Inspector (CESSWI) or Certified Inspector in Sediment & Erosion Control (CISEC). - Minimum 3 year(s) of working experience in construction industry. - Good command in Bahasa Malaysia and English. - Knowledge in Health, Safety and Environment requirements and compliance within the construction industry would be an advantage. - Computer literacy with knowledge in MS Office. - Compliance philosophies & code of ethics. - Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 is an advantage. - Pleasant personality and able to interact with people of all levels. - Able to work independently, possess initiative and responsible. - Adapt to changes to meet commitments and deadlines. - Good team player. - Resourceful, trustworthy and proactive. - Must be willing to work in project site in Perlis.
