General Accountant

Job PurposeEnsure that Accounts Payable and GL accounting processes are in line with established accounting systems, policies andprocedures, conforms to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and in full compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS).Active involvement in the timely delivery of company financial reports, implementation of established internal costcontrol and helps ensure protection of the assets of the business..Key Responsibilities- Organizing incoming invoices and statements of accounts and ensure proper updating of the Inventory Master, Freight Master and other required accounting schedules.- Timely and accurate posting of invoices in the system.- Ensure proper authorization and approval of invoices and timely preparation of payments to vendors.- Regular and consistent liaison and coordination with other departments on the thorough checking and verification of vendor invoices, particular to non-inventory items and contractual services.- Consistent follow-up with vendor's on their statement of accounts.- Verify and reconcile vendor statements, trace missing invoices and payments.- Ensure accounting transactions and financial reporting conforms with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and tax laws and rulings, and in full compliance to IFRS.- Ensure compliance with set company accounting policies and those that may be issued from time to time.
