Graphic Designer

1. Meet with clients or the art director to determine the scope of a project 2. Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and materials. 3. Plans concept by studying information and materials 4. Advise clients on strategies to reach a particular audience 5. Determine the message the design should portray 6. Illustrates concept by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts 7. Develop graphics and visual or audio images for product illustrations, logos, and websites. 8. Create designs either by hand or using computer software packages 9. Obtains approval of concept by submitting rough layout for approval. 10. Review designs for errors before printing or publishing them 11. Prepares finished copy and art by operating typesetting, printing, and similar equipment; purchasing from vendors. 12. Prepares final layout by marking and pasting up finished copy and art. 13. Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment. 14. Completes projects by coordinating with outside agencies, art services, printers, etc. 15. Maintains technical knowledge by attending design workshops; reviewing professional publications; participating in professional societies. 16.
