Laboratory Assistant

Coordinates activities in the laboratory and ensures the smooth running of day-to-day laboratory activities.- Schedules sample throughput, monitors work in progress, prioritizes sample analysis based on customer's requirements and laboratory capability and ensures work is performed on time;- Monitors and ensures that the quality management system as per ISO/IEC 17025 is implemented accordingly.- Reports any sample violations to the Senior Chemist and carries out the necessary actions required before reporting results;- Ensures the qualification, maintenance, and calibration of equipment as laid down under standard operating procedure is implemented accordingly;- Reviews and verifies work affecting the results of laboratory activities;Validates final test reports, where applicable- Participates in laboratory activities, including but not limited to:Ø performs instrumental and non-instrumental analysis using procedures described in the Analytical Methods;Ø carries out quality control procedures and recognizes when data is unacceptable using the guidelines stated in the Test Methods or the Standard Operating Procedure;Ø interprets data, calculates and validates results to ensure accuracy before reporting;Ø takes immediate action to re-analyze any suspect samples and submits the relevant data to the Senior Chemist for review;Ø documents nonconforming results and submits the necessary documentation to the Senior Chemist;Ø carries out routine maintenance and calibration of instruments and maintains documentation;Ø performs method validation per SOP;Ø updates existing SOPs as necessary and submit to the Senior Chemist for approval;Ø involves in the training of junior and new staff and maintains training records;Ø monitors the supply level required and ensures they are adequate to meet the operational goals;Ø maintains the cleanliness and tidiness of the laboratory area.**Salary**: RM1,500.00 - RM2,500.00 per month**Benefits**:- Maternity leave- Meal allowanceSchedule:- Monday to FridayExpected Start Date: 05/02/2024
