Legal Counsel / General Counsel

**Legal Counsel/ General Counsel (JB)**- Give accurate and timely counsel to executives on various legal topics (labour law, partnerships, international ventures, corporate finance etc.)- Collaborate with management to devise efficient operational, investment, and stakeholder strategies.- Specify internal governance policies and regularly monitor compliance.- Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations.- Effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on possible legal issues.- Communicate and negotiate with external parties (regulators, external counsel, public authority etc.), creating relations of trust.- Draft and solidify agreements, contracts, and other legal documents to ensure the company's full legal rights.- Deal with complex matters with multiple stakeholders and forces- Provide clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organization.- Conduct work with high integrity and responsibility.- Maintain current and updated knowledge of alterations in legislation.- Perform other ad-hoc assignments as and when required.**Requirements**:- BSc Degree in Law or J.D. Degree.- MA or BSc in Business Administration will be considered an advantage.- Proven experience as a Legal Counsel in the business environment, with strong banking and finance knowledge.- Minimum five years legal practice or general counsel experience.- Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures.- Full comprehension of the influences of the external environment of a corporation.- Demonstrated ability to create legal defensive or proactive strategies.- High degree of professional ethics and integrity.- Sound judgment and ability to analyse situations and information.- Outstanding communication skills.**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent, Contract**Salary**: RM5,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month**Benefits**:- Opportunities for promotion- Professional developmentSchedule:- Monday to FridaySupplemental pay types:- Performance bonus- Yearly bonusAbility to commute/relocate:- Johor Bahru: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)**Education**:- Bachelor's (preferred)**Experience**:- legal counsel: 5 years (preferred)
