Job Title: In-house LawyerIndustry: Solar Glass ManufacturingLocation: Malacca**About the Job**As In-House Lawyer, the job of an advocate involves representing clients in court proceedings, arguing their cases before judges or juries, and providing legal advice and guidance on matters related to litigation. Advocate research legal issues, prepare legal documents such as briefs and motions, and advocate for their clients' interests throughout the legal process. Solicitors, on the other hand, primarily engage in providing legal advice to clients, drafting legal documents, negotiating settlements, and handling transactions such as property conveyancing and will drafting. They often work closely with clients to understand their legal needs and provide tailored solutions to meet their objectives. Both advocates and solicitors play crucial roles within the legal profession, ensuring that clients receive effective legal representation and guidance.**Responsibilities**:- Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of issues, including contracts, corporate governance and regulatory compliance.- Review, draft and negotiate various legal documents, including contracts, agreements and corporate communications.- Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations, and provide updates and recommendations to management.- Ensure the company's compliance with law and regulations, including Companies Act and other relevant legislation.- Provide legal support for acquisitions (potential), investments and other strategic transactions, including performing due diligence, drafting and negotiating term sheets and definitive transaction documentation, and supporting closing transactions and post-closing integration, all in alignment with Group Legal and in accordance with Policies & Procedures.- Maintenance of all required corporate filings reports in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.- Provide training and support to employees on legal and compliance-related matters.**Qualifications & Experiences Needed**- At least 3 years of working experience as a legal associate in a corporate commercial and/or conveyancing department of a law firm.- Strong knowledge of Malaysian laws, regulations and corporate governance practices including corporate/capital markets and compliance matters, employment, litigation and personal data protection matters.- Excellent contract reviewing, drafting and negotiating skills.- Good command of written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin will be an advantage.- Proactive and able to work independently and as part of a team**Salary**: RM6,000.00 - RM9,000.00 per monthSchedule:- Monday to FridayApplication Question(s):- Are you willing to relocate to Malacca for this role?**Education**:- Bachelor's (preferred)**Experience**:- in-house lawyer: 3 years (preferred)- in manufacturing: 3 years (preferred)**Language**:- Mandarin (preferred)
