Company Nature: Property development, Asset management and Investment industryWorking hours: Mon - FriThis role will be based in Melaka.**Job Summary**:**Key Responsibilities**:- Provide commercially focused legal advice encompassing all relevant areas of the business, taking proactive measures to safeguard the company's well-being and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.- Monitor and advise on current commercial and regulatory policies and procedures to ensure adherence to applicable laws and industry regulations.- Maintain the highest standards of legal, regulatory, and internal compliance throughout the organization.- Advise on commercial litigation matters and explore alternative dispute resolution strategies.- Analyze and negotiate commercial contracts to protect the company's interests.- Represent the company in interactions with government agencies and Act as a representative of the company in various legal proceedings, including court appearances and accompanying witnesses for trial when necessary.- Review and amend third-party contracts to align with internal risk controls and best practices.- Foster strong internal relationships with key stakeholders, integrating the legal team's services into core business functions.- Provide legal counsel on issues arising from ongoing or anticipated lawsuits.- Evaluate litigation cases handled by external counsel at critical stages and provide guidance to management on the appropriate course of action.- Ensure efficient management of legal cases, including cost-effectiveness measures.- Identify and mitigate legal risks that may impact the organization.- Ensure completion of all corporate governance responsibilities related to board, shareholders, committee meetings, and corporate documentation.- Undertake ad-hoc assignments and projects as assigned.**Job Requirements**:- A recognized Bachelor's Degree in Law (LL.B).- In-depth knowledge of Malaysia is essential, and knowing of Singapore law is an added advantage- Minimum of 5 to 10 years of professional experience gained at law firm or as an in-house lawyer.- Proven expertise in corporate governance, business transactions, and commercial matters.- Experience in managing relationships and collaborations with external partners, legal counsel, management, and other stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.- Proficiency in English, BM, and Chinese to facilitate effective communication with counterparts and business partners.- Experience in litigation, commercial, corporate, and conveyancing matters.- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.- Ability to build, manage, and maintain strong internal relationships with key stakeholders.- Demonstrated leadership skills with a commitment to integrity.- Strong conceptual and strategic thinking abilities, with the capacity to anticipate future needs.- Skilled negotiator, proficient in handling both legal and financial/commercial aspects.- Positive attitude and resilience under pressure**Salary**: RM5,000.00 - RM7,000.00 per month**Benefits**:- Professional developmentSchedule:- Monday to FridayAbility to commute/relocate:- Melaka: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)Application Question(s):- Do you know about Singapore law?**Experience**:- Law enforcement: 5 years (preferred)**Language**:- Mandarin (preferred)Application Deadline: 07/25/2023
