About the RoleResponsible for the mechanical design of the machine, from machine conceptual design stage until machine buy-off stage. Also to provide guidance and coordination with other mechanical design engineers in handling bigger projects. What You Need to Be SuccessfulResponsibilities:• Responsible for mechanical design of automated machines.• To propose suitable concept to handle automated processes.• To generate overall design concepts as well as detailed design items.• To liaise with suppliers for components to be integrated into the system.• To liaise with customers for all specifications of machines.• To prepare the fabrication drawings, layouts and BOM.• To do the FDR (final design review) with the customer.• To support the production team during the machine setup.• To support setup on-site and carry out the commissioning process.• To guide and lead a small team of mechanical design engineers in handling large projects.• To involve and support sales team on automation machine concept and proposal during RFQ.• To lead and guide the mechanical team in handling complex machine design. Requirements:• Minimum Degree in Mechanical Engineering.• Minimum 6-8 years working experience in automation field.• Good with Microsoft Windows, Office and AutoCAD.• Knowledge of 3D design software, preferably Autodesk Inventor.• Able to work independently and willing to work under challenging & demanding work environment.• Must be a hands-on person, especially during the machine debug stage.• Possess project management and job coordination skills.• Must be a team player as you will be working with a team of engineers and technicians.• Good communication, interpersonal, problem-solving and analytical skills.• Works well in a team environment and is able to work under challenging situations. • Willing to travel locally and overseas.• Good leadership skill is an added advantage.
