The Risk Strategy team responsible for enterprise-wide strategic initiatives under the purview of Senior Vice President, Regional Risk. The initiatives vary across risk disciplines, depending on external (regulatory) or internal needs, across the US, Europe, and APAC. The Risk Strategy team is accountable for the overall strategic direction, global consistency, and continuous maturity of the Global Enterprise Risk Management practices.

This Manager, Risk Strategy will actively collaborate with Senior Management for Risk Strategy team in executing existing activities, planning and managing new initiatives, and escalating any challenges when required.

What will you do?
Risk Strategy Initiatives:

In partnership with Senior Management team for Risk Strategy, identify, plan for, and execute strategic initiatives under the purview of SVP, Regional Risk.
Conduct project management for strategic initiatives such as milestone tracking, stakeholder engagement, and resource management to complete any particular activity.
Maintain on-going communication of implementation progress and escalation of any challenges to the Senior Management team for Risk Strategy.

People Management:

Holistic management of Analyst and Senior Analyst direct reports, including goal setting, performance management, facilitating growth and development.
Supervise outputs by direct reports, and provide constructive feedback where required.
Key liaison with the broader Risk Strategy and Enterprise Risk teams in Malaysia and the United States.
Coordinate with functional and business partners in Malaysia to ensure team operating in line with local practices.

Issues Management and Regulatory Change:

Coordinate the Issues Management activities for US Risk Office. Seek to continuously enhance the process, ensuring all activities are well documented and supported with evidence.
Conduct high-level interpretation of the regulatory requirements and execute regulatory change management activities by facilitating meetings with program stakeholders and other key parties as required, with the overall goal to facilitate assignment of new or changing regulation to appropriate stakeholders.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Law or other related fields with at least 8 years of experience in a Risk Management role in a Financial Services organization.
Proven ability to effectively manage staff
Comes with strong understanding of Risk Management principles and practices in a Financial Institution.
Experience developing and rolling out new processes within the organization, including establishment of a project plan and stakeholder management.
Strong communicator who is analytical, problem solver with strong attention to detail.
Ability to turn preliminary or ambiguous information, ideas, or problems into well-defined plans and solutions

Nice-to-have
Familiarity with US Financial Institution regulatory landscape
Risk Management and Project Management certification
