**VACANCY: POLITICAL RESEARCHER**At SEDAR Institute, we work on political and public policy development in favor of a democratic, egalitarian, liberal, and progressive Malaysia for all Malaysians. We seek to spearhead ideologies that promote a solid foundation of political, social, and economic institutions.JOB DETAILS- Research assistant position at SEDAR Institute- Full-time, with competitive remuneration and benefits- Based in Cheras, Kuala LumpurPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES- Supporting and coordinating the Institute's research and advisory, stakeholder management, and team development activities.- Carrying out desk and primary research on a wide variety of political and policy issues, as well as other topics as directed.- Drafting and preparing analytical reports, meeting notes, memos.- Supporting and representing SEDAR Institute at client and government meetings and workshops.- Contributing to the growth of the office and the firm as a whole.QUALIFICATIONS- Malaysian national with excellent proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is a plus.- One or two years of relevant work experience, preferably in one of the following: government ministries or statutory boards, government affairs/relations, public affairs/relations and communications, legal, consulting, media/journalism, or think-tank/academia.- Consideration is given to outstanding fresh graduates with relevant internship experience or academic specialisation.- Knowledge and interest in political and socioeconomic issues and developments in Malaysia.- Adept knowledge of the functioning and protocol of the Malaysian Government is a value-add.- Strong time-management skills and ability to multi-task.**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent**Salary**: RM2,700.00 - RM3,000.00 per month**Benefits**:- Free parking- Maternity leave- Opportunities for promotion- Parental leave- Professional developmentSchedule:- Monday to Friday- On callSupplemental pay types:- 13th month salary- Overtime payAbility to commute/relocate:- Kuala Lumpur: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)Application Question(s):- Is your degree related to the social sciences?
