1. To lead and assist in the training of new and existing employees, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties with maximum efficiency.2. To increase accommodation (Hotel Occupancy and RevPar), meeting and catering business through product upselling, establishing and maintaining good rapport/relationship with clients and hotel guests, working to meet and exceed given sales targets.3. To carry out account retention, development and acquisition (sales solicitation) strategy developed for all applicable markets.4. To develop new businesses wherever and whenever possible from identified market segments and sources of business.5. To attend and participate in trade shows, promotions etc representing the hotel.6. To maintain high profile and upkeep the image of the hotel in the market place.7. To distribute the hotel's sales collateral (sales kits, promotional flyers) when appropriate.8. To maintain and monitor accurate accounts and data sheets on all active accounts, to monitor this data via our database system.9. To entertain potential, existing and regular clients/guests to secure business and maintain rapport.11. To closely liaise with all relevant personnel within the hotel to ensure coordination of events, group check-in arrangements etc are communicated efficiently to ensure success.12. To organize and coordinate sales activities and promotions i.e. Appreciation Cocktail, Hotel Travel Fair, Sales Blitzes etc when required.13. To prepare monthly statistical and sales reports on sales related matters.14. To update and brief General Manager on Sales & Marketing related matters.15. To study and review competitors' activities, promotions and events regularly e.g. type of packages, promotions, rates etc which are offered to volume accounts by competitor hotels and to update General Manager accordingly.16. Execute prompt service recovery when unexpected challenges arise.17. To be responsible for confirming/securing business, deposit payment, gathering sufficient information pertaining business leads i.e. group accommodation, meeting and catering bookings for pertinent detailed follow through, coordination and detail gathering - whilst still overseeing the event.18. Responsible for securing Request For Proposals (RFP) and Contracts from Corporate companies, Wholesale/Travel Agencies etc for the hotel.19. To source, follow up and secure all FIT bookings on behalf of the hotel.20. To respond to any changes in the departmental function as dictated by the industry, company or hotel.21.
