**Job Summary**:_- This position will assist in providing, maintaining and enforcing a safe and secure environment for students, employees and visitors through enacting the safety procedures and policies of the School. This position is designed and is required to foster proactive student/staff relationships through a genuine, intrinsic motivation to work in an enjoyable, positive and collegial school environment. _- **Responsibilities**:_- 1. Supervise student activities during school hours, including arrival, dismissal, breaks, and lunchtime._- 2. Help students to get to class on-time and ensure a smooth flow of traffic through the hallways._- 3. Providing protective escort or supervision for victims of fights or bullying._- 4. Continuous foot patrol of school sites with a focus on monitoring student behavior, ensuring students are not wandering the campus; escorting students to/from class or office; retrieving bags, backpacks or other personal belongings for students and staff; opening, unlocking and securing doors._- 5. Monitor hallways, corridors, and common areas to prevent unauthorized access and maintain order._- 6. Inspect and monitor the security of doors, windows and gates._- 7. Conduct regular patrols of the school premises to identify and address security risks or potential hazards._- 8. Patrol the school campus and areas around the school including unsupervised areas._- 9. Assists in enforcing school rules and disciplinary policies by informing phase leaders in the event of any violation to promote a safe and respectful environment for all students._- 10. Respond promptly to any incidents, conflicts, or emergencies that arise on school grounds._- 11. Communicate effectively with school leaders, teachers and support staff to address concerns, provide updates, and coordinate activities._- 12. Maintain accurate records of incidents, interventions, and student behavior for reporting and documentation purposes._- 13. To involve and organize training sessions, drills, or workshops related to school safety, emergency preparedness, and crisis management._- **KNOWLEDGE OF**:_- 1. Crowd control. _- 2. Excellent observational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and address safety concerns proactively._- 3. Working with children or adolescents in a school, camp, or youth program setting._- 4. Record-keeping techniques._- 5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly across cultural group_- 6. Investigation techniques and procedures. _- 7. Basic law enforcement and security methods and procedures._- 8. Basic first aid procedures and emergency response protocols._- 9. Evidence of leadership in the areas of equity, social justice, cultural relevance, and restorative practices._- **ABILITY TO**:_- 1. Think clearly and logically, use good judgment, and make rapid and appropriate decisions in emergency situations._- 2. Sound judgment and decision-making, especially in high-pressure or emergency situations._- 3. Have adequate physical fitness and stamina to perform duties that may require standing, walking, or patrolling for extended periods._- 4. Support students and a willingness to work collaboratively and independently in a diverse environment committed to equity, justice and students' social emotional wellness_- 5. Work independently with little direction._- 6. Establish and maintain effective working and cooperative relationships with others._- 7. Exercise physical force when necessary in restraining and assisting in the detention of suspicious persons or suspects on school premise_- 8. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing._- 9. Be flexible._- **Qualifications**:_- High school certificate or equivalent; additional education or training in security, law enforcement, or education is preferred._- Clear criminal background checks and/or clearance to work with minors in an educational setting._- Fluent in English is preferable. _- **The School Inspector plays a crucial role in maintaining a secure and supportive environment where students can thrive academically and socially.
