As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Regional Manager (Category Team Lead) to lead our procurement team and contribute to the overall success of our organization. Position Overview: The Senior Manager (Category Team Lead) plays a crucial role in optimizing our procurement and supply chain operations, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services essential to our healthcare delivery. This leadership position requires strategic vision, strong managerial skills, and a deep understanding of procurement processes within the healthcare sector. This leadership position manages non-medical categories (IT, Facility Services, Medical Equipment, Office Product & Service, Marketing, HR, etc) across 18 hospitals in Malaysia. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Procurement Management: Develop and implement category strategies aligned with the hospital chains overall objectives. Foster relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and secure advantageous terms and conditions. Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing procurement team. Establish clear performance metrics and regularly assess the teams effectiveness. Vendor Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain relationships with key vendors and suppliers. Evaluate vendor performance, ensuring adherence to quality, cost, and delivery standards. Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or patient care. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance procurement efficiency. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure procurement activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards. Implement risk mitigation strategies and maintain awareness of industry trends. Technology Integration: Explore and implement advanced procurement technologies to streamline processes. Collaborate with IT teams to leverage data analytics for informed decision-making. Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with department heads to understand their procurement needs and objectives. Collaborate with finance, operations, and other relevant departments to align procurement strategies with organizational goals. Requirements Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; Proven experience in procurement management within the healthcare sector, with a minimum of 8 years in a leadership role. In-depth knowledge of healthcare procurement regulations, policies, and best practices will be an advantage. Experience of using any ERP and e-sourcing tool (Ariba, Oracle, SAP) Ability to influence key internal stakeholders with strong emphasis on relationship building. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
