Job Description System Engineer - Linux Admin and Windows Admin About the Role · As a Systems Engineer within our IT Infrastructure org, utilizing your strong analytical and problem-solving skills, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day support of server services by performing server administration for physical and virtual server operating systems and configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting of physical and virtual hardware and network related interfaces on servers. In addition, you will interface to users with technical issues by conducting systems analysis and development to keep systems current with changing technologies. While you have a technical background that allows you to easily work with IT applications, you'll also demonstrate critical soft skills, such as excellent communication skills and a service-oriented approach, strong problem solving and analytical skills, flexibility, and understanding of business needs. Responsibilities: · Assists with conducting research on new technologies and making relevant recommendations to management · Interface with application vendors, technical resources and other technology partners as necessary · Perform triage on issues, provide technical solutions, and stay up to date on software releases and updates · Scripting and automation to create and run scripts to automate repetitive processes · Ability to create, modify and troubleshoot Group Policy Objects · Develop and maintain SOP documentation · Develops and maintains metrics around the system and institutes a process for continuous improvement · Defines and ensures continuous monitoring procedures are set according to the standard procedures and requirements · Monitoring various IT components and applications for trend analysis and continuous availability · Familiarity with ticketing systems, such as ServiceNow · Ensure that all work and changes are performed according to the defined change management process to minimize disruption to existing business use. · Represent the product team during Major Incidents, perform RCA’s and drive to resolution. · Report on key systems administrative metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) · Participate in an on-call rotation schedule in a "follow the sun" model Qualifications · B.S. in computer science or related field, or 7-8 years equivalent experience · Ability to work cooperatively and effectively in a team environment · Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership, can-do attitude, urgency, and drive · Advanced knowledge of security trends and best practices · A high degree of innovation & creativity to resolve technical problems · Excellent functional and technical knowledge in troubleshooting Microsoft Windows Server (2008 R2 - 2019, Windows Server Core 2016 & 2019) · Strong knowledge in tools like Configuration Manager (SCCM), AppLocker, Kenna, Nexpose, or other technical tools in completing assignments · Experience and knowledgeable with Active directory administration (group policy, power shell) · Experience working in a challenging and fast paced environment, ability to work well under sustained pressure and tight deadlines Internal Use – Confidential · Strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills, as well as accuracy and attention to detail · Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technology solutions in business terms · Ability to effectively present information to all levels of the business including leadership team · Scripting and automation - Bash, Python, PowerShell · Experience in Patch Management and vulnerability remediation Desired Skills · Docker Containers, Kubernetes, Kafka · Experience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP) · Experience with GPU technologies
