RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead a team of Industrial Engineers and Technicians in executing the following tasks: Lead and manage a team of Industrial engineers and technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to maximize performance and achieve organizational goals. Develop and implement production layout strategies that optimize resource utilization, minimize waste, and ensure efficient workflow. Conduct capacity planning and analysis to determine the ideal resource allocation, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining optimal efficiency levels. Perform time-study analysis to identify bottlenecks and develop strategies for process improvement and production optimization. Manage Capital Expenditure (CapEx) projects, including budgeting, planning, and implementation, to enhance manufacturing processes and capabilities. Utilize OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency) calculations and analysis to evaluate and improve equipment performance, availability, and quality levels. Drive initiatives for productivity improvement by identifying areas for enhancement and implementing appropriate strategies and processes. Conduct man-machine calculations and analysis to optimize workstations, labor allocation, and production processes. Apply 5S principles to create an organized and efficient work environment. Facilitate Kaizen events to identify and eliminate process inefficiencies. Champion lean manufacturing principles and methodologies to eliminate waste, reduce non-value-added activities, and improve operational efficiency. Utilize takt time analysis and calculations to enhance production planning, ensuring optimal resource allocation and meeting customer demand. Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments (e.g., Engineering, Production, Quality, Planning) to drive performance improvements, resolve issues, and implement process changes. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop action plans accordingly. Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and emerging practices in industrial engineering. Implement innovative solutions to enhance manufacturing processes and drive efficiency. Ensure activities meet with and integrate with organizational requirements for quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental, 5S policies, and general duty of care. Other duties as assigned. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Location: Penang Science Park, Simpang Ampat. Works in a fast-paced engineering/manufacturing lab environment. Also works in a standard office environment and uses general office equipment (telephone, PC, copier, fax machine, etc.). QUALIFICATIONS: Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams effectively. Proficient in the use of industrial engineering tools, techniques, and software, with expertise in Lean Manufacturing methodologies. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of implementing successful process improvement initiatives. In-depth knowledge of production layout strategies, capacity planning, time-study analysis, and OEE calculations. Experience in managing capital expenditure projects, including cost analysis, budgeting, and vendor management. Effective communication skills with the ability to present complex information to stakeholders at various levels. Proactive mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and drive organizational change. Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Willing to travel oversea. EXPERIENCE: Essential: Minimum of 15 years of experience in industrial management, preferably in a senior-level role. Prefer 10+ years of management experiences for new product introduction / project transfer. Desirable: Experience in successfully managing cross-functional teams. Experience in charge of transition from small-batch production to high volume in electrical industry. EDUCATION: Essential: Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience and education. Desirable: Master of Science degree is preferred. Black-belt Lean/Six Sigma Certification.
