1) To provide standard of nursing care of all patients in the dialysis centre.
2) To observe guidelines on nursing procedures and other standard medical procedures.
All staff are required to wear uniform and observe Standard Precaution methods at
all times during duty.
3) To supervise newly hired nurse on probation period in clinical & nursing procedures
4) To ensure that all dialysis machines are clean and safe to be used.
5) To be proficient in the commencement of patients on dialysis such as cannulation of
fistula needles and observe patients during dialysis.
6) To attend to any medical emergency on machine malfunction immediately.
7) To administer drugs according to the Nephrologist's order/prescription.
8) To ensure blood investigations are carried out on schedule or as instructed by the
doctor. All blood results to be reviewed, and filed. Any abnormalities of the results should be notified to doctor immediately.
9) To ensure patients' medical files including prescriptions and doctor's notes are updated at all times.
10) To inform the Head Nurse of any adverse change in the patients' clinical status, defective medical equipment, accidents and complaints. To hand over daily occurrence and status to the staff nurse of the next shift via the incident book.
11) To inform patients of their next treatment dates and to notify staff Head Nurse of any changes in schedule.
12) To perform counseling and education of patients, including diet and rehabilitation and maintain its evidence
13) To ensure that the dignity, safety and wellbeing of the patient are respected at all times.
14) To observe codes of confidentiality in the nursing care of the individual patient.
15) To develop good communication with patients' relatives and visitors. To greet patient and be courteous to them.
16) To maintain professional behavior, appearance and attitudes at all times.
17) To work overtime should the need arise. To inform doctor or the Country Office if any
