We provide residential homes for children and the elderly, hostels, family support services, daycares, tuition centres, a refugee help centre and emergency relief services in times of crisis.**MAIN PURPOSE / OBJECTIVES**:The Store Assistant supports the mission of the Red Shield Industries Malaysia, a social enterprise, highly regarded by public for its excellence delivery donation in kind service which is sensitive and responsive to the community welfare needs and meeting the funding needs of The Salvation Army.It is expected that the Store Assistant will be involved in sales work, merchandise display, operations of point of sales and assisting special sales events, prepare, record and stock take donated items, sort, distribute and organize stocks within the environment of the Family Thrift Stores with established quality, environment and safety practices.**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**1. Carry out duty with utmost personal integrity, reliability and keeping to time commitments.2. Provide excellent customer service.3. Unload, organise and store all donated items.4. Assist in sorting of clothing/books/toys/furniture and any items collected and displayItems well to attract sales.5. Assist the management to ensure that there is no pilfering.6. Upkeep the overall general cleanliness and tidiness of the stores at all times.7. Ensure that all electrical items are quality checked and priced accordingly tomaximise profits for the store.8. Assist in the sales of goods especially furniture and electrical items at store.9. Assist in Jumble Sales10. Assist in maintaining store equipment in safe and usable condition.11. Report any discrepancies to the Supervisor promptly.12. Adhere to all workplace safety rules and regulations at all times.13. Be properly attired, putting on Personal Protective Equipment when necessary, atall times.14. Report to the respective Supervisor/Manger on any feedback/incident/damageswithout delay.15. Work as a team and participate in team meetings, daily briefings and debriefings.16. Carry out any other duties as assigned by MYRSI Centre Management from timeto time.**Qualifications**:- SPM with relevant working experience.- Able to read and write in simple English.- Reasonable fitness level.**Other Information**:**DUTY HOURS**Under normal circumstances the hours of duty will be as follows:6 days' work week / 45 hours work week8.30am to 5.00pm (Monday Saturday, including 1-hour break)Flexibility in work arrangement is expected based on operation needs.
