Having creative flair, and an interest in the colour, texture and pattern of têxtiles- Researching the properties of materials used in specialist and industrial têxtiles- Undertaking research for ideas and inspiration- Have knowledge of the market and be able to predict new trends- Understanding client briefs, developing new designs and conducting research- Accurately interpreting and representing market's idea- Experimenting with colour, fabric and texture- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of new design and production techniques and têxtile technology- Thinking of innovative ideas and developing commercially-appealing designs and prints for a variety of fabrics, clothing materials, industrial fabrics- Have an awareness of current têxtile production processes- Producing sketches, designs and samples for presentation to immediate supervisor- Sketch and use painted or digitized images to produce a two-dimensional sample of a printed fabric- Making up sets of sample designs- Produce initial sketches by hand, or on a computer, using specialist computer aided design (CAD)- Create fabric designs and patterns for woven, knitted and printed materials.- Predict the use of têxtile produced.- Consideration of strength and performance of the material- Communication skills are essential for teamwork and translating clients' ideas into sketches and samples- Ensuring that projects are completed on time- Liaising with marketing, buying and technical staff as well as design colleagues- Considering how the têxtile will be used and what properties it needs- Researching the properties of materials used in specialist and industrial têxtilesJob**Salary**: RM1,200.00 - RM2,000.00 per monthSchedule:- Day shift**Experience**:- fashion designer: 1 year (preferred)
