Job Description Job description: Assistance Manager, Regional Custom Compliance and Government Relatio
We are looking for an Assistant Manager to manage the regional custom compliance, government liaison and this individual will work with government agencies, local & international authorities, internal and external stakeholders. You will be based in Sepang, Malaysia and report directly to the Senior Manager, Trade and International Custom Compliance.

Key job functions
The person works to ensure the company's trade operations meet country guidelines and adhere to import and export regulations
The person duties include performing audits to ensure that the cross-border shipping and business activities meet all relevant requirements
Overseeing the custom compliance team members that communicate with the appropriate government officials to ensure that company understand their obligations and obtains the necessary certifications for each transactions or shipments
Collaborate with cross-functional team to clarify requirements, interpret results and ensure due diligence requirements are met
Identify and assess potential risks associated with licensing and regulatory compliance especially in daily Operations
Work with the Government Relations team to build relationships with relevant governments stakeholders
Liaise and coordinate with local authorities/agencies to resolve any incidents /risk issues
Work with the business teams, develop strategic action plans and initiatives to achieve company' business goals
Coordinate the local operation team to smooth operations process while meeting International Trade regulations requirements and improve the customer experience
SKILLS
These are minimum-requirement skills and a 'must-have' for the role:
Experience and knowledgeable about import and export laws and regulations
maintain a fundamental understanding and stay current with changes in import and export regulations
Exposed to international customs and trade compliances in ASEAN region particular Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and Philippines, having exposure to China will be added advantages
Experience in coordinating with Customs regarding inquiries, communications and audits
Experience or having right network in liaising with countries authorities pertaining to local requirements
Understanding of Bonded and Free Trade Zone operations, as well as associated restrictions, tariff structures, insurance prerequisites and all other pertinent custom-related topics that may arises
Possess analytical and strategic thinking abilities with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Multilingual preferable, best fluent in English, Malay/Indonesian
Preferable with international custom knowledge
Degree in field related (international business or equivalent)
Min 5 years working experience directly related to field
