Associate Director, ContractsThis is a regional (Asia) role, sits within the regional operations team, and will report to the Chief Contracts Negotiator based in Singapore. This is an interesting business and law hybrid role and ideal for a lawyer with litigation or in-house experience with a strong business and risk management focus. The successful candidate will be expected to review and negotiate commercial terms and conditions in Aon's contracts with its clients. He/she must also be able to demonstrate an understanding of the risks associated with accepting (or rejecting) such terms and take a practical problem-solving approach to resolve any issues that arise. As an organization, we are united through trust as one inclusive, diverse team, and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.What the day will look likeReviewing and negotiating contracts, local and cross border engagements, tenders and RFPs, particularly on commercial terms and conditions.Liaising with internal and external stakeholders for fact-finding and negotiation purposesSupport with Global Risk Committee and Asia Risk Committee initiatives and projects such as Enterprise Risk Management and related risk mitigation measures, contract audits, contracts deployment, implementing changes in contract deployment processAssistance with the creation of new contract templates and improving current templates to meet business needsManaging contract template changes across different jurisdictions (in Asia) and business linesMonitoring progress of global initiatives and contract implementation across AsiaEstablishing and maintaining a register of issues which frequently arise, both from a client and an Aon internal perspective, for training purposesAssisting with and conducting in-house trainings and sharing of best practicesSuch other duties as the Chief Contracts Negotiator assigns from time to time.Skills and experience that will lead to successLaw degree, with good understanding of contracts/legal concepts,Able to work independently (including in a remote work environment) and in a team, with initiative to seek guidance as necessaryEffective communication skills, for liaising with both internal and external stakeholdersAbility to spot issues and gather further information as necessary to resolve issuesAbility to distil and explain key points in a clear and concise mannerGood contracts drafting and writing skillsProject management and administrative skillsStrong commercial acumenAbility to see the big picture and join the dots across the firmCompetent in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPointAbility to perform under pressure, cope with voluminous contracts and meet tight deadlinesHow we support our colleaguesIn addition to our comprehensive benefits package, we encourage a diverse workforce.
