The Army also manages residential care homes for children, youth and the aged and has also developed other services such as day care centres, a special education learning centre, kindergartens, emergency relief and community service centres.Hopehaven Special Needs Care Centre offers specialised care and training for children and youths with learning disabilities such as Downs syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in the historical town of Melaka.Students receive specialised training catered to their ever-changing needs such as early intervention programme (EIP), vocational skill workshops, engaging outdoor activities and living skills to enable them to lead meaningful, independent lives.- Facilitate Individualized Programs: Help implement personalized programs for each client in the class.- Prepare Materials and Plans: Assist in preparing materials, equipment, and contract work for daily plans.- Oversee Daily Activities: Manage clients' daily routines including contract work, in-house training, mealtime, and rest time.- Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure clients are thoroughly cleaned after incidents like vomiting, diarrhea, etc.- Create a Stimulating Environment: Help maintain a stimulating, organized classroom and ensure cleanliness.- Supervise Field Trips: Oversee clients during field trips, even those outside regular working hours.- Supervise Play and Recreational Activities: Provide supervision during indoor and outdoor play and recreational activities.- Direct Client Supervision: Take charge of clients in the class when the Teacher is absent.- Accompany Clients on Trips: Accompany clients on trips in the Centre vehicle when necessary.- Provide Additional Support: Offer appropriate assistance to address students' difficulties and ensure their safety during various activities.- Uphold Professionalism: Maintain good attendance, adhere to the proper dress code, and uphold discipline at all times.- Display Professional Conduct: Interact professionally with clients, parents, visitors, donors, sponsors, and colleagues, maintaining appropriate confidentiality.**Qualifications**:- Minimum with SPM or higher education relevent to Special Needs Children- At least 1 year of experience working in the same field- Able to work independently as well as in a team- Required language(s): English, Bahasa Malaysia- Commitment to working with studentswith special educational needs- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills- The ability to build good relationships based on trust with students and their families- Behaviour management skills, with the ability to manage confrontation and challenging behaviour- Initiative,problem-solving skills and teamworking skillsto liaise with other care associate- An observant and responsive approach- Flexibility - it's important to be able to respond to the needs of the students and adapt or change plans accordingly- Positive, energetic and enthusiastic outlook**Skills**:Care AssistanceSupport Service To Children And YouthsCreative StorytellingTeachingClinical Teaching And Supervision**Other Information**:**Working Hours**Monday to Friday (8.30am to 5.30pm)Saturday(8.30am to 12.30pm)**Work Location**The Salvation Army- MelakaNo.321, Jalan Parameswara,75000 Melaka, Malaysia
