Job DescriptionThis is an exciting managerial role in the Design Engineering Group where you will manage a team developing Si Enabling and UEFI Firmware for key Si building blocks of servers and clients chipsets and CPUs.As a leader of the team, you will work closely with your organization to deliver high quality firmware in close collaboration with Si Design engineers and their management as well as Si and Firmware Validation teams.You will be expected to utilize your knowledge and experience to guide your team to quickly resolve Firmware issues in both the pre-silicon and post-silicon environments. In this position you will gain invaluable experience which will allow growth and expanded opportunities within this key development organization.Manages a team of firmware professionals including firmware development engineers, tech leads and/or architects responsible for Firmware development across its lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, developing, debugging, validating, optimization, customer engagement, and product support.Provides architectural and technical guidance, ensuring that sound engineering practices are followed.Responsible for enabling teams to execute through clear goal setting, facilitating work, maintaining accountability, applying differentiated performance management, and driving team results.Drives results by inspiring people, role modeling Intel values, developing the capabilities of others, and ensuring a productive work environment.QualificationsYou must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering or equivalent plus 5 years of IT industry experience or Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent plus 3 years of experience3+years of an experience in managing SW or firmware development teams or 5+years of an experience in developing BIOS or other embedded firmwarePractical knowledge about PC architecture and operating systemsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsSelf-starter requiring minimal supervisionPreferred Qualifications:Experience managing product development engineers through the product lifecycle and working closely with stakeholdersExperience with x86 assembly language programmingExperience with Intel client or server platformsExperience working in the pre-silicon environment to debug UEFI firmware or other embedded FW in simulation and/or emulation.Inside this Business GroupIn the Design Engineering Group (DEG), we take pride in developing the best-in-class SOCs, Cores, and IPs that power Intel's products.
