About the RoleThe Supply Chain and Material Planning will oversee and manage the organization's supply chain activities. This position will involve supervising the daily activities of the supply chain team, which includes materials planning, logistics, customer support, spare part orders, and warehousing. What You Need to Be Successful Develop and implement strategic plans for materials management, considering factors such as demand forecasts, production schedules and inventory targetsCollaborate with production, procurement and logistics to align materials planning with overall business objectivesAnalyze historical data and market trends to create accurate demand forecasts for materialsWork closely with sales and marketing teams to understand upcoming promotions, product launches or changes in customer demandEstablish and maintain optimal inventory levels to meet production needs while minimizing excess or obsolete inventoryMonitor and analyze inventory turnover, ageing and other relevant metrics to identify areas for improvementCollaborate with procurement and logistic to ensure timely and cost effective delivery of materialsIdentify potential risks and disruptions in the supply chain and develop contingency plans to mitigate the risksUtilize data analysis tools and software to generate reports and insights on materials planning performancePresent KPIs and metrics and informed decision makingContinuously evaluate and improve materials planning processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy and responsivenessImplement best practices and new technologies or methods to streamline operationsProvide leadership and guidance to a team of materials plannersMentor and train junior staff members to enhance their skills and knowledge
