Job Description Position Overview:   We are seeking an experienced and proactive Data Governance and Privacy Manager to lead a diverse team of young and motivated professionals to oversee and manage data governance and privacy initiatives within our conglomerate. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in data management, governance, and privacy, with a deep understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices across diverse business units. They will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive data governance and privacy frameworks to protect our data assets and promote responsible data management practices. Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement and maintain a cohesive data governance and privacy strategy and  framework across the conglomerate, encompassing policies, procedures, and standards to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data assets.  Collaborate with business unit leaders, data owners, and stakeholders to assess current data governance and privacy practices, identify gaps and opportunities for improvement, and drive the implementation of remediation efforts.  Establish and maintain data governance and privacy roles and responsibilities, including data stewards, data owners, and privacy officers, to facilitate accountability and ownership of data assets.  Lead the development and implementation of data governance and privacy policies, procedures, and standards tailored to the unique needs and requirements.  Oversee the execution of data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), data classification, data anonymization, encryption, and other privacy-enhancing measures to mitigate privacy risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, such as PDPA, GDPR and HIPAA. Monitor and enforce data governance and privacy policies and standards through regular audits, assessments, and compliance reviews across the conglomerate.  Serve as a subject matter expert on data governance and privacy matters, providing guidance, training, and support to business units and stakeholders.  Stay abreast of evolving regulatory requirements, emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in data governance and privacy, and drive continuous improvement initiatives accordingly. Foster a culture of data governance and privacy awareness and compliance across the conglomerate through training, communication, and advocacy efforts. Requirements Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Privacy Law, or related field  Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in data governance, data privacy, or related field, with demonstrated experience managing data governance and privacy initiatives within a large, complex organization, and at least 1 year in a managerial or leadership role.  In-depth knowledge of data governance and privacy principles, practices, frameworks, and regulations, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements across diverse industries and jurisdictions.  Proven experience developing and implementing data governance and privacy policies, procedures, and standards within a conglomerate or similar multi-business unit environment.  Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  Relevant certifications, such as Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) or Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), Certified Data Management Professionals (CDMP) are a plus.
