The role is responsible for GI actuarial pricing functions as well as provide quantitative and analytical support to other business functions.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Pricing, Portfolio Monitoring and Data Analytics
Manage pricing and re-pricing for GI products, including prepare necessary documents for submission to Bank Negara Malaysia, Product Governing Committee, Product Development Committee, Group Office, etc.
Communicate with other departments in term of premium structure and rate changes, as well as system readiness preparation.
Ensure timely submission of regular portfolio monitoring reports to track top line and bottom line for different lines of business, and provide insightful commentary to key stakeholders.
Conduct analysis to provide insightful commentary in supporting business decision making processes.
2. Ad-hoc
Set up proper procedures, internal policies, SOP, etc, in related to GI actuarial pricing functions, to improve and standardize working procedure.
Perform other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by supervisor in order to meet operational and/or other requirements.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Degree in a quantitative disciplines such as Actuarial Science, Mathematics and Statistics
Minimum of 6 years in a GI actuarial pricing role
Good progress with professional actuarial examinations
Good programming skills would be preferred, e.g. SAS, SQL, R, VBA, etc.
Experience with Generalised Linear Models (GLMs) will be an advantage
Reasonable understanding and experience in insurance database and data warehousing systems
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher)
Positive attitude and good problem-solver
Innovative, with a strong willingness to learn
Good verbal and written communication skills in English
