Overview

IDC ASEAN and Government Insights organization is looking to hire a Research Manager to join its Asia/Pacific Public Sector research team to cover the ASEAN region specifically.
The Asia/Pacific Public Sector team is focused on creating valuable and actionable enterprise ICT management content in government, healthcare and education sectors. These include predicting current and future industry trends, uncovering technology use, regulatory norms and procurement behavior, benchmarking and framework advisory, as well as provide consultative insights to public sector end users and solution providers/ vendors that service these markets.
The candidate will bebased in Malaysia(preferably Kuala Lumpur), and will report directly to the ASEAN Managing Director with an activity report line to the Asia/Pacific Public Sector Practice head.

Responsibilities

To qualify, IDC and requires a solid candidate with a rare combination of astute public sector regulatory acumen and ICT domain knowledge. This candidate will be involved primarily in generating relevant actionable public sector research for the team's worldwide-based customers. In addition, this candidate is expected to contribute (and sometimes lead) to IDC Insights' consulting and customized research engagements, as well as delivering impactful presentations a wide range of audiences.
The ideal candidate should possess strong business writing skills, and function as an entrepreneurial thinker and adaptive advisor. Also, he or she should be comfortable in business development engagements.
This role will require less than 15% traveling, post-pandemic norms.
Qualifications

Ideal Core Skills:
8 to 12 years of corporate experiences in the public sector technology/IT industry, preferably in areas of strategy, transformation, and C-suite consulting. He or she should become a trusted advisor in business/digital transformation for public sectors. Direct public sector experiences in digital initiatives and IT-led innovations will be advantageous
Experience in Public Sector/Government Consulting activitiesthat includes roadmapping, strategic priorities development, stakeholder mapping and policy development. Experience in Digital Economy strategic development and consulting work is a plus.
Strong business writing skills and highly analytical -Candidates with strong enterprise IT writing skills and/or technology policy writing capabilities will also be highly considered
ASEANregional exposure/experience

Ideal Soft Skills:
Highly motivated, adaptively independent and able to function in a constantly disrupted environment
Collaborativewith a positive attitude and willingness to learn and share
Good communicationsand presentation skills. Fluency in the English language is compulsory, and in the additional ability to be fluent in Bahasa Melayu will be advantageous
