Sea Indirect Tax Accountant

Key Responsibilities: Interfacing directly with external accounting firms to assist in the preparation and filing of monthly and quarterly GST, VAT, and SST returns for our international locations. Compiling various documents and reports to support the monthly and quarterly GST, VAT, and SST return review and filing process. Preparing journal entries related to GST and VAT return filing and payment activities. Assisting with the design and implementation of procedures to reconcile monthly, quarterly, and annual activities related to various indirect tax filing requirements. Assisting with the preparation and filing of tax returns for various types of indirect tax related to foreign and domestic operations. Performing research related to various indirect tax compliance requirements. Assisting with external audits of various types of indirect tax, including gathering, organizing, and analyzing audit data, and working with auditors to drive audit resolution. Assisting Fastenal stores, customers, and others with correct Indirect Tax exemption requirements and other tax questions. Identifying and implementing procedural improvements to enhance efficiency. Planning and organizing activities to complete assigned tasks on time with a high level of accuracy. Completing special projects and other administrative tasks. Qualifications: Possess or are working towards a degree in Accounting. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Willingness and ability to manage results-driven projects. Highly motivated, self-directed, and customer service oriented. Demonstrate strong organization, planning, and prioritizing abilities. Exhibit strong problem-solving, deductive reasoning, and decision-making skills. Ability to learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Experience working in a tax-related field is an advantage. Proficient using PeopleSoft is an advantage.
