Senior Associate, Director/Producer

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The role of the Director / Producer is to:

Able to direct multicamera (5 camera and above) and single camera productions

Work closely with the EP to make assigned programs to the highest possible standard

Manage a team of APs, writers, PAs and crew, drive the program creative

Advise PMs on budgets, track costs and ensure shows are delivered on time/budget

Assist EP/PM to plan and monitor schedules, maximising budgets and resources

Strive to improve the quality of program: creative, VTs, script, audio, lighting etc

Explore innovative TV ideas, execute fresh concepts, closely monitor the Malaysian TV industry and develop an awareness of international programs, styles and techniques

Develop teams, plan for succession, assist with training (internal and external)

Ensure job descriptions of all team members are adhered to and fulfilled, assess staffs for annual score cards and give feedback, revise salaries, identify stars for promotion

comply with and ensure teams comply with Astro codes of conduct, policies and procedures and Malaysian workplace laws and regulations

manage disputes or issues, immediately if the issue may impact on program delivery (ie: talent is not in studio) if non-urgent, report to EP if unresolved within 7 days

Ensure local broadcasting rules and regulations are adhered to, carefully observe cultural sensitivities and language, legal issues, copyright and privacy.

REQUIREMENTS:

Possess Diploma with 5 years of experience in Content Creation for TV / Degree with 3 years of experience in Content Creation for TV

Able to direct multi camera productions (more than 5 cameras) & single camera productions

Knows in depth about camera, lighting and sound equipment based on production requirement be it MCP or single camera

Able to produce programme with minimum supervision

Able to speak and understand Tamil; reading & writing Tamil is an added advantage

Able to handle post production systems i.e. FCP / Adobe
