Together, we're the next BIG thing in data.Job DescriptionAnalyze, understand and document development requirements of electronic designsCarry out detailed electronic circuit design, including simulationDesign and implement electronics design by selecting components, schematic design and supervising PCB layout as well as integrate and test the hardware platform.Conduct product verification against defined hardware specification, prepare design documentation and support design transition to manufacturing as necessary.Assume technical lead role in project as necessary to provide the technical direction, technical decision and risk mitigation.Identify opportunity to improve within the functional team and participate in improvement activities.Create and maintain BOMs of the new designsSelect new electronic parts, taking into consideration: obsolescence, availability and costPerform and evaluate costing studies meeting the costing targetsLiaise with vendors and a cross functional team to produce prototypesCollaborate with internal engineers to develop semi-automated Jigs and checking gaugesPerform design FMEA to reduce risks of performance failuresCreate & maintain technical documentation (schematics, specifications, reports, preventative maintenance)Release new products through new product introduction principalsWork in a team for continuous development and improvement of products / parts / firmwareQualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or relevant courses or Master'sExperience in detailed design with schematic capture until supervising PCB layout using industry standard EDA tools (Cadence, Mentor Graphics, etc.)1-5 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position.Fresh graduates are welcomed to applyWork independently with minimum supervisionExcellent English communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skillsGood team work, willing to learn, logical thinker and able to work under pressureSelf motivated and result oriented.Additional InformationWestern Digital thrives on the power and potential of diversity.
