Purpose of the role

Support the regional IT manager for managing necessary regional IT infrastructure as well as providing L3 technical support to the wider APAC technical team (including L1 and L2)

Owns the operation and delivery of regional Networks and Infrastructure and Co-Operates with the Global Networks and Infrastructure team.

Takes responsibility for the design, procurement, installation, upgrading, operation, control, maintenance (including storage, modification and communication of data, voice, text, audio and images) and effective use of IT infrastructure components and monitors their performance.

Provides technical management of an IT operation, ensuring that agreed service levels are met and all relevant policies and procedures are adhered to.

Schedules and supervises all IT maintenance and installation work.

Ensures that operational problems are identified, recorded, monitored and resolved.

Provides appropriate status and other reports to specialists, users and managers.

Ensures that operational procedures and working practices are fit for purpose and current.

Investigates and manages the adoption of appropriate tools, techniques and processes (including automation) for the management of systems and services.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Provides technical management of an IT operation, ensuring that agreed service levels are met and all relevant policies and procedures are adhered to.

Develops, negotiates and agrees schedules and priorities for Services, with respective users, in line with Service Level Agreements. Ensures agreements are implemented and controlled.

Ensures that operational procedures and working practices are fit for purpose and current.

Investigates and manages the adoption of appropriate tools, techniques and processes (including automation) for the management of systems and services. Ensures that appropriate software or specialist monitoring tools are used to maintain awareness and control of the hardware and software.

Takes responsibility for the design, procurement, development, installation, upgrading, operation, control, maintenance (including storage, modification and communication of data, voice, text, audio and images) and effective use of IT infrastructure components and monitors their performance.

Schedules and supervises IT maintenance and installation work, including major configuration changes and upgrades in consultation with others where appropriate, including user representatives, facilities managers and contractors. Ensures tasks are carried out in line with service level agreements.

Influences design and development of new and changed systems and services to optimise operational efficiency. Contributes to definition of associated standards and techniques. Recommends operational and maintenance acceptance of new systems and services. Contributes to KPIs for system acceptance and monitoring.

Conducts investigations on system performance, security, risks, and system usage, and makes proposals for improvement.

Ensures that operational incidents and problems are identified, recorded, monitored and resolved. Provides appropriate status and other reports to specialists, users and managers.

Investigates suspected attacks and undertakes the investigation and resolution of security incidents, in accordance with established procedures including incident management procedures. Uses forensics where appropriate. Reports on findings and lessons learnt / improvement actions.

Basic Skills/Experience

Has in-depth commercial and technical expertise, often in a variety of environments.

Demonstrates the special leadership skills needed to handle innovation and change resulting from the implementation of new information and communications technology solutions.

Possesses a good level of management skills, with particular emphasis on interpersonal and negotiating skills

Demonstrates an understanding of current developments in the application of Information Systems and is able to assimilate and interpret advice from specialists - technical or otherwise.

Has some knowledge of IT standards, policies, regulations, compliance and codes of conduct.

Demonstrates good negotiation skills with experience of dealing with users, other staff and suppliers.

Technical Skills

Microsoft Windows 2008/2012/2016 Server experience (Preferred)

Microsoft Exchange 2010/2013 Server experience

Microsoft Collaboration Tools – SharePoint, Skype for Business and Teams.

SCCM Modern Workplace Management and Deployment (Preferred)

Win 10 Monitor, Release and Patch management at OS and Apps level

Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, Azure Single Sign-on,

VMWare Server & Desktop virtualisation technologies

BitLocker Encryption and Client Security experience

Microsoft Active-directory Expert

Exposure to HP and Dell servers

SAN Technologies, HP left Hand, EMC

Exposure to Lenovo laptops and desktops

Exposure to ITSM Remedy

Solarwinds and Splunk

MCSE qualification, VCP or equivalent

Awareness of Security Management and Penetration testing tool sets

Knowledge of SQL Server (backups, log rotation etc)

Networking (LAN, WAN, VPN, TCP/IP, DHCP and DNS) experience and troubleshooting

Exposure to Cisco Equipment (Hubs/Switches/Routes/Firewalls/VPN) (Preferred)

Cisco Meraki Experience (Preferred)
