Legal Counsel Responsibilities Resolve all issues, escalating to management as required Provide legal advice and support in various areas of practice within product groups, country/regional, business or operations including reviewing and/or negotiation of documentation Analyze documentation against legal and regulatory requirements and internal policies to advise business or operations accordingly Produce internal and external documents containing strategic recommendations with respect to matters managed for senior counsel/country counsel/regional counsel review Execute department risk & control and other tasks required to support the department Execute tasks that support the fulfillment of the Firm's overall obligations and responsibilities Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Bjak, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards. Requirements 3 - 5 years of relevant practice experience in a reputable law firm Experience in insurance industry and corporate law Some experience in litigation will be an advantage Ability to negotiate with stakeholders and external parties Comprehensive knowledge of local, state and federal laws and practices Proficient in legal research Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication and drafting skills.
