Senior Programme Officer

Duty Station: Pekan, Pahang
Responsibilities:  Implement and manage a range of existing projects at site level; Undertake project activities such as studies, awareness programmes, networking and information exchange; Prepare technical and management reports; Communicate and working with partner agencies at local level (local government, private sector, Civil Society Organisations, and indigenous people and local community groups); Plan and execute community development and empowerment events/programmes; Working with partner agencies in Malaysia and overseas; Input to development of new projects and activities; and Contribute to other elements of the Peatland Programme as appropriate Job Requirements: Degree in Environmental or Natural Resource Management. Fluent in English and Malay with good writing skills. Experience in computer and basic software skills – e.g. Microsoft office. Experience in management of forest, natural resources, peatland, biodiversity, climate change, and/or plantation issues.  Minimum 5-8 years relevant working experience. Experience in communication with multi-stakeholder, including indigenous community. Experience in awareness event organisation and information exchange.  Experience in multidisciplinary teams an advantage. Willingness to work with indigenous communities. Willingness to be based in Pekan, Pahang.
