About the role
We seek highly motivated individuals to join our dynamic team as Specialist Procurement Guided Buying in the eBusiness team to be a supporting role in realising BHP’s objective to become a world – class commercial organisation through successful implementation and maintenance of a global Ariba Guided Buying solution.
Ensure conformance with the BHP Charter, the BHP Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.
Demonstrates and instils an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development.
Work collaboratively with Commercial and other colleagues to optimise and deliver sustainable outcomes
Support the testing and implementation of global process improvement initiatives and system changes to ensure accurate and timely deployment.
Liaise with regional category management teams to identify catalogue onboarding opportunities
Provide recommendations for catalogue hosting strategy (hosted vs punchout) prior to vendor engagement
Engage vendors as part of relationship management approach to reach agreement on hosting strategy
Liaise with SAP ARIBA representatives to engage vendor representatives for catalogue setup
Assist relevant category/supplier managers with ongoing questions, concerns or support required
Validate that supplier’s catalogue meet the minimum requirement (ie images, lead time, and commodity code) and liaising with supplier to ensure content to meets the required standard
Ongoing maintenance of Guided Buying with continued growth of content (ie tiles structure, key words searching, commodity code and material group mapping, etc)
Review spend through Guided Buying to ensure minimum PO rework is required (Price changes etc.)
Review spend through Guided Buying to ensure we have no creep into purchases that should be via Work Order or Reservation
Sound understanding of relevant BHP E2E Supply Chain and proactive application of these in all dealings
Coordination across sub functional teams and activities to drive holistic improvement and relevant external stakeholders
Developing a continuous improvement plan with key stakeholders to optimise value to BHP of using the Guided Buying solution, including liaising with Ariba Product Managers to raise new design requests to improve the solution functionality
About You
Bachelor’s degree and / or similar qualification in a commercial, business and/or technical discipline
5 years minimum relevant experience
Experience in supply chain
Experience and Technical Competencies
Pragmatic commercial outlook and exemplary judgement (balances business value vs. risk) to deliver best outcome for BHP
Knowledge of catalogue management in ARIBA system is an added advantage
Demonstrated experience with end to end supply chain
Collaborative mindset and advanced interpersonal skills.
Highly capable in building constructive long term relationships.
Proven ability to operate effectively in complex and ambiguous environments
Ability to think laterally to independently resolve issues and influence change.
Autonomous, detail oriented, organised, and objective.
Communication skills enabling the influencing of a diverse stakeholder group
Ability to work individually and in a team as required.
Language: Fluent in both English and Spanish
