The BASF Shared Services Center Kuala Lumpur was established in 2005. Located in Kuala Lumpur, it has approximately 700 employees and provides functional services in the areas of Finance, Controlling, Information Services, Human Resources, Environment, Health & Safety, Procurement, and Import-Export Order Management to BASF companies and affiliates in 17 markets across Asia Pacific. BASF also has three other Shared Service Centers that cover Europe and the Americas, located in Berlin and Ludwigshafen, Germany, and Montevideo, Uruguay.
Objectives of the Position
To act as a Responsible person for ensuring BASF Transportation & Warehousing safety standards are met
Main Tasks Provide and coaching to team members in matters related to Transportation & Distribution Safety pertaining to Logistics operations process and foster customer focus culture Manage the Logistics Service Provider Management process by setting effective safety target for Logistics Service Providers and periodic performance review and development of Logistics Service Providers. Develop individual Safety training plan for the team based on current and future development requirements. Provide Logistics Operations safety management-related expertise and information to business and regional counterparts community for continuous process improvement, system harmonization and solution coordinator for process problem solving Interact with business management, Corporate Communication, Manufacturing Sites, EHS, BU SCM and sales to gain knowledge of new business models and provide Transportation & Distribution Safety solution to business Ensure Logistics Operations team effectiveness by fostering cross-Business safety knowledge sharing with Logistic Service Providers and creating a reliable safety system, which is recognized by Customers. Offer guidance to team members in capturing BU/ Customer expectation / reduction of repeat NCM's, by analyzing the root causes, propose corrective measures and ensure on-time closure of the end-to-end process in coordination with BUs and Functions for all Logistics Operations complaints. Effective management of distribution network for Region at all times. The network comprises of 3rd party managed warehouses & Transporters. Accountable for high standards of Safety performance in all aspects of assigned 3rd party warehouses & Transporters. Ensure Zero Medium and Major observation during internal and External audits of Logistics Operations processes Regular and timely monitoring of Warehousing & Transportation Logistics Service Providers via defined KPIs, analysis of data from SAP system and / or developing / implementing new KPIs relevant to the business. Conduct regular service provider performance reviews. Work with Logistics Service Providers to ensure continuous safety improvement measures are identified and implemented leading to higher efficient and safe operations. Ensure Spot Audits are conducted periodically, and Logistics Service Providers consistently improve leading to zero observations. Ensure high safety/compliance standards are maintained by all Logistics Service Providers at all times. Conduct internal audits and visits. In addition, also support in closing RSA related pending action. Lead Project to Reduce NCM's and Accidents and Incidents YOY. Undertake projects to Digitalize Safety Operations leading to transparent performance of Logistics Service Providers Communication: Ensure timely and effective communication with all stakeholders (Business Units, 3rd party Logistics Service Providers, Logistics procurement, Customer Service, Planners etc.)
Requirements
Education Full time MBA, with LSS Green Belt certification will be preferred B. E Qualification will be plus. APICS certification will be plus.
Working Experience 8-10 years of experience in the field of Supply chain operations, Experience of Value stream mapping
Technical & Professional Knowledge Detail oriented and good analytical skills, Knowledge of Transportation & Warehousing Safety process Knowledge of SAP processes & Digitalization of Logistics Operations. Knowledge of Logistics service provider market / Real Estate market. Have expertise in bringing Change Management and Transformation in Operations
